The Human Form, The Greatest Gift

The Lord, Maryada Purshottam, Prabhu Shree Raam, is a manifestation of Lord Vishnu, Satyanarayan Swami. He manifested on the earth to bring a lesson and a message for all human beings. In the context of what we are experiencing as a society with the COVID-19 pandemic, the words and actions of the Lord have even more relevance. Shree Raam manifested on earth within the confines of a human body, and everything he achieved was through good practices, living a life of dharma (righteous conduct).

In Uttara Kaand of the Shree Raamcharitramaanas, Maryada Purshottam, Prabhu Shree Raam speaks to the citizens of Ayodhya, and, by extension, share that positive message with the entire world. It is a message that is perennial, in which he gives us the solution to all of the problems that we face in life.

He said:

Barey bhaagya maanush tana paava
Sura duralabha sab graanthe gaava
Saadhana dhaam moksha kari dvaara

This is the essence of His message: He says that the human body with which we are gifted, is the greatest reward that we can receive. It is one of the most powerful messages. He says that this human body is given as a reward for good action. Contained within that statement, if we are to deconstruct it, are many valuable lessons. The main one is that good actions bring good rewards. The human body is considered foremost among all of the forms of God’s creation. May the grace and blessings of that Lord Maryada Purshottam Prabhu Shree Raam be upon every one of us.
