Lydia has voluntarily taught mathematics to the students at the temple over the summer vacation, assisted in Ramleela Celebrations, spear-headed four successful Yagyas at the temple in 2007, and she is also a member of the Gender Affairs Committee and Youth Group of Swaha.
Lydia is grateful to her loving, hard working parents who guided her along her chosen path and inspired her to continually achieve success throughout her life. She also values the Pundits of Swaha, especially Pt. Balram, whose guidelines, principles and teachings have helped her to stay on the path of righteousness and to achieve her goals in life.
Lydia offers words of advice that she lives by daily:
“I strongly believe in seva; giving back to the community, temple, family etc. Swaha has blessed me abundantly with opportunities to do so and in so doing, helped me become a better person. ‘Service to man is service to God,’ I always tell myself. There is so much to be done and each person has an important role to play; do your best and do it from your heart.”
